Born in a family of tax lawyers and judges , Aparna is a fourth generation lawyer practising in the taxation field with 32 years of bar experience with specialisation in the field of taxation. She had a brief tryst with the GST and Customs department as Senior Standing Counsel from 2017 to 2021, during which time she appeared in many noteworthy cases for the department. Aparna was a GST FACULTY of the indirect Taxes Committee/ICAI .She has presented many study papers on different topics with respect to the tax laws in different platforms. She has co-authored a book "GST in HealthCare Sector: Emerging relevance in Covid 19 times" with foreword by (Retd.) Justice Vineet Kothari, High Court Judge ( publisher: Taxsutra and Bharat publications) . She has also been appointed by Court as Arbitrator in commercial contract disputes.

Subsequently, she utilized the opportunity to pursue LL.B., (Hons.) at School of Excellence in Law, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University. During her Course of study, her team won in the 3rd GDGU International Virtual Law and Technology Moot Court Competition, 2022. She become part of M/s.Aparna Nandakumar Legal LLP in order to gain abundant exposure and experience in the field of Taxation after her graduation in law.
